C4 TV "A Place in the Sun" - Cyprus Market Strengthens
Updated: 12/06/07
Channel 4 TV's premier real estate programme has once again highlighted Cyprus as an excellent investment opportunity. On the programmes web site they stated that Cyprus is a haven for holiday buy-to-let investment because of the all year sun, sandy beaches, EU membership and friendly English speaking locals.
The programme went on to say:
Many people from the UK favour Cyprus. Which is not surprising considering that Cyprus has the complete summer holiday package. Safe sandy beaches, friendly locals, spectacular scenery and year round sunshine all make Cyprus a holiday gem. Which explains why so many of us are looking to Cyprus for our home or investment in the sun.
Most overseas buyers still come from the UK although other nations are beginning to buy in Cyprus. Since joining the EU people have become aware of where Cyprus is and it has brought new purchasers from other countries. The property market will continue to grow due to many factors. Purchasers like the legal system in Cyprus – it is easy to understand and based on the one in England. The Government in Cyprus also believes in looking after the environment – properties cannot exceed a certain height and density is monitored and green areas are planted within developments.
The most popular area is Paphos which attracts most of the investors and, with the construction of mixed-use developments, should continue to be the island’s most popular area. For more information go to out Investment Opportunity page.

Paphos Property - Good Investment Potential
Updated 09/11/06
The long awaited report from property fund ILS is expected to again name Paphos as the strongest investment choice in Cyprus. The recent development of the infrastructure namely the motorway linking Paphos to Larnaca has further increased the regions popularity. This is combined with the natural beauty of the area and ancient history has further increased prices over the last year. However, compared to the rest of Europe Paphos does not suffer with skyscrapers and strict planning laws have been adhered to to maintain it's rustic charm. This is reinforced by the fact that although property continues to rise in value it is still relatively cheap compared to destinations such as Spain. Paphos has a number of developments that offer great investment potential, we have highlighted a number of these in our report. > read more
